Milk Market & Wickham Way
A Taste of Limerick:
The Milk Market & Wickham Way If you’re heading into Limerick City during your stay at The Old Bank Family Townhouse, make sure to leave a little time to explore two of the city’s lively food and market spots – Limerick’s famous Milk Market and the colourful Wickham Way.
🥐 Limerick Milk Market A visit to Limerick wouldn’t be complete without experiencing the Milk Market. With a history dating back to 1852, it is one of the city’s much-loved landmarks and a wonderful place to soak up the atmosphere of Limerick. The Saturday market is the big one, with stalls packed with local produce, farmhouse cheeses, artisan meats, fresh fish, breads, pastries, fruit and vegetables, as well as plenty of tempting food to enjoy while you wander. There’s a lovely buzz about the place – grab a coffee, pick up something delicious for later, browse the stalls and enjoy the mix of locals, visitors, producers and food lovers. The Milk Market also has events, live music, cafés, crafts and family-friendly activities throughout the year. Saturday is the main market day, from 8am–3pm, with markets and café-style events also taking place on Fridays and Sundays.
🍴 Wickham Way Just a short wander away, you’ll find Wickham Way, an indoor community space tucked in at the junction of Thomas Street and Wickham Street. It’s a great little spot to discover something different, with food, coffee, art, crafts, independent traders and a changing selection of food stalls. On Saturdays, the market runs from 10am–3pm, with stalls featuring crafts, art and more. The food court stays open later, making Wickham Way a handy place to stop for something to eat or a relaxed coffee while exploring the city.
